Depart early from Marrakech, Morocco's Red City, known for its ancient walls and buildings. Travel onward through Erfoud, renowned for fossils, and Rissani, a historic caravan town that once served as an important trading center. In the afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, meet the camel caravan, and trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset. Wake early to watch the Sahara Desert sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes, then enjoy breakfast at camp. Ride the camel back to Merzouga village and begin the return journey to Marrakech. Travel through the Draa Valley, Morocco's largest palm oasis, passing through Agdez and Ouarzazate before crossing the High Atlas Mountains again. Arrive in Marrakech in the evening, ending the tour.
