An absolutely fantastic experience With Aziz and his team. Turban, sandals and good mood. A great trip with lots of different impressions. And good food En helt fantastisk upplevelse Med Aziz och hans team. Turban ,sandaler och gott humör. En toppen tur med massa olika intryck och god mat Abdou fixade super god mat. Och väldigt vänliga vi kände av att de gjorde allt från hjärtat. Upplevelsen var fantastisk och jag rekommenderar detta team. Att vandra i öknen och lära sig mer om sig själv och universum. Jag är mycke tacksam för denna resa.

Wir hatten einen schönen Trip mit Hamza und viel Spaß! Wir haben schöne Einblicke in die Wüste erhalten können. Die Betten im Camp waren sehr gemütlich, und man konnte sogar duschen (mitten in der Wüste!). Das Essen war gut und der Sonnenuntergang von der großen Düne wunderschön. Das einzige, was ich schade fand, war das Sandboarding: Es liegen zwar paar alte Boards zur Nutzung bereit, allerdings sind am Lager nur kleine 5 Meter Dünen. Ich hatte gehofft, dass wir mit den Boards zu den hohen Dünen fahren würden.

After 3 months since we left Morocco and spent New Year's in the desert, I want to say it was a good experience. New Year's Eve could have been better, it was just our group of Portuguese people partying, then some Dutch people and a Greek couple joined us, the Spanish went to bed early haha, but Aziz partied with us too and was always there for something. Thank you.

Great people, great food, driver Abdoul was the best, safe and knowledgable and skilled at navigating the desert landscape and describing its features. Kids had a blast playing in the dunes and sand boarding every spare moment. Recommended!!!

Wir waren mit Mohamed 2 Nächte in der Wüste. Super Tour, absolut sympathisch und viele Informationen! Wir haben an tollen Aussichtspunkten und alten Bäumen gehalten, er hat ein paar echt schöne Bilder von uns geschossen. Auch der Ausflug in die Oase war cool. Ich konnte ihn alles fragen über die Kultur, Traditionen und die Antworten waren sehr authentisch und reflektiert. Wir haben uns sehr gut umsorgt gefühlt, auch im Camp. Besonders war der Sandsturm, aber auch durch ihn ist Mohamed souverän zurück nach Mhamid gefahren, trotz wenigen Metern Sicht. Die Zelte im Camp waren voll gemütlich und das Essen richtig gut. Vielen Dank für diese tolle Erfahrung.🙏✨️🌞

Superbe expérience avec Aziz qui nous a concocté un super programme, bien adapté aux enfants pour découvrir le désert aux alentours de Mhamid et jusqu'à Erg Chegaga. Nous avons adoré notre voyage et avons des souvenirs inoubliables grâce à lui. Une organisation de qualité, une communication simple et fluide. Je recommande !

We just loved going on a desserttrip with Aziz. Everything was fine. The first contact, meeting, accomodation,... everything. On top of that is Aziz an amazing guide and he can tell you alot about the dessert and nomad culture. We can recommend Aziz as your tourguide. You will find out that he is gentle, warm, openhearted and verry care- taking.

Aziz and his nomad family are very kind and welcoming people. We had such a magical time and felt very well guided through the desert. We gonna come again for sure and strongly recommend them!

We travelled Morocco for 2 weeks and definitely wanted to experience the great vastness of the Sahara desert. While looking for possible tours and guides we came across sahara wonders and decided to book there. The communication with our host and guide Aziz was perfect, he mostly replied in less than 15 minutes and is fluent in arabic, english, french (and giving his best in german). We spent the first night at their guesthouse in M’Hamid el Ghizlane. After breakfast, we packed our things and Aziz drove us out into the majestic dunes of Erg chegaga. Aziz, who was born and raised in a nomad tribe himself, was the perfect tourguide. He can answer pretty much all questions you might have about nomadic life and survival in the sahara. We slept in a comfortable tent in a camp right between the dunes. During our two-day stay we got to experience delicious moroccan food, drumming by the campfire, stargazing into the sheer endless nightsky and admire the sunrise over the dunes. Unfortunately i fell sick on the night of the first day and ended up pretty much bound to bed. Aziz and his friend Mohammad (the “desert doctor”) took care of me with tea and bread, which made the situation a lot better. After returning to the guesthouse, we spent some more time talking to Aziz before he drove us to the bus station. I highly recommend their tours to anybody looking for an authentic nomadic experience you wont forget! Marvin and Sophia

Wir unternahmen mit unseren zwei und sechs Jahre alten Kindern eine zweitätige Erg Chegaga Tour mit Aziz. Es war eine fantastische Erfahrung. Die Tour war sehr professionell organisiert und das Camp wunderbar ausgewählt. Aziz ist ein unglaublich symphatischer und herzlicher Begleiter. Besonders hervorzuheben ist auch, wie liebevoll Azis mit unseren Kindern umging. Unsere kleine Tochter war begeistert von seinen schauspielerischen Fähigkeiten und der Dromedar Imitation und wollte gar nicht mehr von ihm lassen. Für unseren Sohn fuhr er noch einen Umweg, damit wir die höchste Düne des Erg noch besteigen konnten. Unsere absolute Empfehlung besonders auch für Familien!

Expérience inoubliable avec Aziz, à M'Hamid et dans le désert! Lui et son frère Hassan nous ont accueillis chaleureusement dans leur maison à M'Hamid, Hassan nous a cuisiné de bons plats et Aziz nous a guidés dans le désert. Balade de dromadaires, chasse aux fossiles, sandboarding, musique traditionnelle autour du feu, c'était génial. On a très bien dormi sous la tente, et très bien mangé. On souhaite revenir pour un plus long séjour!

It's been a pleasure knowing Aziz and his brothers, stay at his home, share the food, and especially the trip to the desert. He took us in his 4x4 (fun drive in the sand) to a very beautiful camp very close to the big dunes. We did sandboarding over the dunes, camel riding, and a fantastic dinner before looking at the stars and hearing the music and Berber's songs near the fire. A very good deal and a perfect desert experience. We recommend him!

Nous avons vécu une expérience superbe en compagnie d’Aziz. Aziz sait accompagner à la découverte du désert, nous amener à découvrir les paysages et apprécier les spécificités du désert et de sa culture. Hemos pasado un fin de año increíble. El campamento estaba impecable, la cena deliciosa y todo cuidado hasta el último detalle. El desayuno era estilo buffet y no le faltaba de nada. Aziz y el resto del personal han sido muy atentos, íbamos con niños y han disfrutado mucho tanto el paseo en dromedario como el sandboarding. Super recomendable para pasar unos días inolvidables.

Une nuit de Noël sous le ciel étoilé du désert dans un camp ultra confortable et raffiné, repas délicieux,promenade à dos de dromadaire, 4*4.. un Moment inoubliable grâce à Aziz, sa gentillesse et sa patience. Super expérience avec Aziz, qui est une personne avec beaucoup d’humour et une grande gentillesse. Nous avons parcouru le désert en 4x4, pu observé des fossiles ainsi que quelques animaux, puis nous avons passé la soirée dans un camp au milieu des dunes. Le dîner était délicieux et la chambre très confortable. Tout était magique, merci pour tout.

Amazing! The guide Aziz is very kind, he talked about his culture and he answered all our questions. He made the trip really unique and we enjoyed it. His car is comfortable, we had a rest in the oasis with delicious lunch. I recommend 100%!

La experiencia en Mhamid nos ha gustado mucho. La casa de Aziz se encuentra en un lugar muy tranquilo del pueblo, justo a la entrada al desierto y a la vez cerca del centro. La casa es muy bonita, espaciosa y cómoda, nuestro viaje era en mayo con altas temperaturas por lo que Aziz nos propuso dormir en la terraza bajo las estrellas, fue una muy buena idea! También organiza diferentes tipos de tours al desierto, estuvo atento a la mejor recomendación por las fechas de nuestra visita para que tuviéramos una buena experiencia. La comunicación con el ha sido facil, está atento a tus mensajes y consultas. Gracias por todo Aziz! Hasta pronto, inshallah

Superbe expérience avec notre fille et nos deux petits-enfants ( 11 et 12 ans) dans la maison d'Aziz, puis dans le désert... Aziz est adorable, il aime plaisanter avec les enfants et connaît vraiment bien le désert... qu'il aime tant, et cela se ressent! Son frère Hassan nous a préparé de délicieuses tajines, et a joué au Mikado avec les enfants! Soirée agréable sur le toit de leur maison, et même, pour certains, nuit à la belle étoile ! Aziz nous a amenés avec Acacia, sa jeep, dans un très chouette camp ... Belles grandes tentes propres, couvertures chaudes en quantité, bon repas, balade en dromadaires au soleil couchant ... musiciens en soirée.. Une halte dans une oasis pour le repas de midi, une halte au retour pour rechercher des fossiles... Une très belle expérience dont les enfants se souviendront! Merci Aziz!!!

Aziz est un super guide! Nous avons d’abord passé une nuit dans sa maison traditionnelle à M’Hamid (nous avons dormi sur le toit, c'était magique!). Puis le lendemain, nous sommes partis dans le désert en 4x4. Aziz chante au volant de "Acacia", le nom qu'il donne à sa jeep. Ensuite, la balade en dromadaire nous a rapproché d'une très grande dune à grimper à pieds (prévoir de l'eau!) pour admirer une vue extraordinaire au coucher du soleil. Il y avait quelque chose d'initiatique dans ce voyage! L’organisation de notre séjour dans le désert était parfaite. Aziz nous a permis de vivre une expérience très authentique. Merci encore pour tout! Nous recommandons Aziz comme guide pour un séjour dans le désert sans aucune hésitation!

Nous avons eu la chance de passer une nuit chez Aziz et son frère Hassan grâce à une plateforme d’échange de maison. Le lendemain, Aziz nous a emmenés vivre une expérience inoubliable dans le désert, où nous avons passé la journée et la nuit. Aziz est une personne de confiance : chaleureux, drôle, très attentif et surtout génial avec les enfants. Notre fille fêtait ses 9 ans ce jour-là et Aziz lui avait réservé une magnifique surprise : un gâteau d’anniversaire apporté au son des djembés, le tout organisé en secret au campement. Ce moment restera gravé dans sa mémoire (et dans la nôtre). Aziz est aussi un pilote hors pair qui connaît le désert comme sa poche. Nous le recommandons les yeux fermés à tous ceux qui veulent vivre une véritable aventure humaine et authentique.

Super moment avec Aziz passé du 16 au 17 avril 2025 pour ma petite famille de 5 personnes. Nous l'avons retrouvé le matin vers 11h, avons laissé nos bagages chez lui et il nous a emmenés avec son 4x4 dans le désert. Nous avons mangé en plein désert dans une oasis puis fait du quad et dormi dans des tentes. Nous n'avons pas eu froid ni trop chaud la nuit, c'était très bien. Le repas était très bien, le campement d'une 15 aine de tentes avait de l'eau et un peu d'électricité grâce à des panneaux solaires. Nous sommes partis à 6h du matin dans la nuit en dromadaires pour rejoindre une grande dune et voir le lever du soleil. C'était super ! Aziz est un vrai pilote, il connait le désert comme sa poche. Il est dynamique, sympa, drôle, et très serviable. On voit bien que tous les autres guides l'apprécient, il est respectueux et connaisseur. Je le recommande sans hésiter ! Merci encore pour tout Aziz !

Dans le Cadre d’un échange de maison (HomExchange) nous avons pu bénéficier d’une nuit dans la maison d’Aziz accueilli par son frère Hassan avec un délicieux tagine… au petit matin un très petit déjeuner et hop nous voilà parti en 4*4 pour le bivouac dans le désert. Après avoir traversé le désert de pierres et un arrêt déjeuner dans un oasis nous avons découvert un vrai désert de dunes…. Splendide! Nous étions peu nombreux c’était appréciable… les installations étaient confortables malgré avec une nuit très fraîche… le petit déjeuner avec vue sur les dunes était incroyable… Bref belle organisation et moments hors du temps! Nous vous conseillons les services d’Aziz même si nous ne l’avons pas rencontré…

Once I decided I was going on a trip to Morocco, I started looking at what activities to do. As my flight was from London to Marrakesh I initially only looked at activities around Marrakesh. I came across desert trips from Marrakesh, but I wanted a little more time in the desert and challenge myself a little more, I.e more time walking. I searched online and found that it is possible to do trips straight from M’Hamid into the Sahara desert. Which meant I would be in the desert from day one. I came across Sahara Wanders and decided to see if they would be able to accommodate me for a three day hilking trip.. I started my enquiry by email and received a quick response. I liaised with Aziz, he confirmed that he was able to accommodate my dates and I paid a deposit via PayPal. Aziz has a Riad in M’Hamid, which was great, as I arrived at 9.30pm a day before my trip and was able to say there a night before my trip. I took a bus from Marrakesh to M’Hamid, through the mountains, with lovely views. (Take a seat on the left side of the bus for the best views). Aziz collected me from the bus station. The next day, myself, another solo traveler Claude, had a lovely breakfast, before setting off with Hassan (camel handler, Aziz’s brother), Hamza (Cook) and two camels carrying our supplies. It was an experience I will never forget. Hassan and Hamza’s was kind, helpful and did everything to please. They accommodated me with my own tent for privacy, which was much appreciated. I rode a camel, eat well and walked through amazing settings. I would recommend a trip with Sahara Wonders to anyone.

We spent with Aziz one day on Erg Chigaga and were lucky to see two totally different faces of the desert (quite unexpectedly 😅). He picked us up from M'hamid, offered lunch at his house and took us to the camp. Despite raging sandstorm we didn't get lost (chapeau bas) and could see a nearby oasis. Aziz told us about nomads life and you clearly see how much knowledge and experience he has. I also really liked the old nomads story about the origin of North and South winds on Sahara. The camp located at the foot of the highest dune is very well maintained. The tents are really comfortable and spacious. There is a walled bathroom with showers and toilets and a small restaurant. We enjoyed every moment: adventurous car ride, welcoming tea, fascinating weather changes, little walk on the dunes during the sunset, traditional berber dinner with drum music show after, breathtaking starry night sky, chilly camel ride at the sunrise, breakfast and sand boarding. It's a type of experience you want to have the next time you visit Morocco!

We had a nice stay in one of the riads. The treatment of the staff was truly beautiful and unforgettable. We had a welcome tea with one of the workers and he was always asking if everything is alright. For us, one of the best stays here in Morocco and the Mhamid desert is really worth visiting. Increíble experiencia con los hermanos, Aziz Hassan y Ahmed, muy amables y atentos desde el minuto uno que hablamos con ellos por msj, su casa es un lugar muy acogedor, donde por la mañana Hassan te sirve el mejor desayuno con mucho amor. El camino al desierto es hermoso con sus paisajes cambiantes hasta llegar a las dunas imponentes. El campamento también estuvo súper completo con paseo en dromedario hasta la duna más alta de todo Marruecos. Por la noche música y buena comida. Al amanecer el sol te recibe son su color naranja potente y después un buen desayuno completo para finalizar. Definitivamente volveremos a hacerlo con ellos sin pensanrlo. Vale la pena!! La prestation d'excursion et bivouac dans le désert proposée par Aziz est assurément de qualité : véhicule sécurisant avec 7 places qu'il conduit avec prudence, bon repas en oasis, nuitée dans un campement de petite taille (20~25 personnes) avec deux locaux en dur (salle à manger et sanitaires avec douche chaude), vrais lits sous tente de 5 avec draps et couvertures, vraie balade à dromadaire loin dans les dunes, soirée berbère en musique... Très confortable pour les familles. Ou sinon pour les aventuriers, possibilité de bivouac sauvage : à convenir explicitement à l'avance.

Aziz et Hassan nous ont permis de vivre une expérience extraordinaire et authentique, loin de la foule. Les repas étaient également délicieux. Si vous cherchez des standards européens, passez votre chemin. Si vous voulez vivre quelques jours hors du temps, contactez Aziz. C’est une personne de confiance, il est né et grandi dans le désert, tout le monde le respecte et c’est très rassurant. Merci encore pour tout ! cooles wüstenerlebnis! waren 5tage/4nächte unterwegs. ca 3 stunden pro tag zu fuss. wir wurden kulinarisch verwöhnt!! zwischen den guides die mitkamen und uns gab es eine leichte sprachbarriere wodurch sich die gespräche mehrheitlich auf das wesentliche bezogen.

loved our experience in the Sahara! Aziz was an amazing tour guide and answered all our questions, took us to his favorite camping spot and made us traditional nomadic moroccan food. 10/10 recommend staying overnight in the desert with him and seeing the desert under the stars!

When I arrived in M'Hamid, the Sahara was a great mystery to me. Thanks to Azis and Hassan, I was lucky enough to experience its most authentic side. In fact for the two brothers – both born in a nomadic community – the desert is like an old home: they deeply know and respect it. But this is probably not enough, because what I could see in their eyes while speaking about Sahara has definitely something to do with love. I arrived in M'Hamid planning to spend therr just one night and I ended up staying in the area for four days. In the Sahara, I managed to see breathtaking sunsets and countless stars. I drank excellent tea full of bubbles and spent evenings talking with other travelers. Last but not least, I had the chance to enjoy the genuine kindness of Azis and Hassan, who I carry in my heart even now that I'm far away. Don't hesitate to let them help you discovering the majesty of Sahara!

Notre séjour était INOUBLIABLE ! Nous avons passé une première nuit chez Aziz et Hassan, puis une seconde dans un bivouac à Chegaga où nous avons pu découvrir le désert (balade en dromadaire, coucher du soleil depuis la plus haute dune, chants traditionnels et djembé au coin du feu). J’ai passé trois nuits à M’Hamid loin des tumultes des grandes villes, les trois plus beaux jours de mon séjour. Trois jours riches en découverte et en partage. Aziz nous a ouvert les portes de son agréable Riad. Que dire de la qualité de ses excursions, de sa cuisine et de son accueil ?! Simplement magiques ! Des moments gravés à vie.

Nous étions 7 (famille et amis, dont 2 enfants) à résider chez Aziz et son frère Hassan. UN BONHEUR. Le riad se trouve a une rue (de sable) du désert. il est calme, spacieux et authentique. bien plus joli que ce que les photos montrent. alors bien entendu, si vous souhaitez un environnement aseptisé, digne de l'hôtel Mamounia, ne venez pas....mais si vous cherchez un riad où on vous accueille comme des amis, ou vous pouvez manger des tajines succulents, du poulet au barbecue et aux épices, des fruits frais, tout ça au calme, à l'ombre en papotant avec Aziz alors venez. Hassan nous a emmené dans un village où nous ne serions jamais allés seuls...et avec Hassan et Aziz, il n'y a pas de marchandage, tout est honnête et générosité.. il y aura un peu de sable sur le tapis mais c'est un privilège d'être là. Aziz propose des excursions dans le désert...Magique. Dromadaire et 4x4 nous ont fait découvrir des paysages splendides et nous avons pu planter les tentes loin des zones trop touristiques... c'était incroyable... Nous avons eu un excellent repas après notre ascension de la grande dune et au retour nous sommes passés par un temple au milieu du désert .... De plus, Nous avons eu un problème avec notre voiture à Marrakech, Aziz a contacté un garage a Zagora qui nous a fait une belle réparation et là encore, honnêteté et gentillesse....bref, allez chez Aziz les yeux fermés (non, ouvrez les et admirez). Merci encore pour ces souvenirs gravés à vie.

Sia il soggiorno a Mhamid che la notte del deserto sono state esperienze meravigliose. Nonostante il caldo (essendo giugno) e un errore da parte mia nella prenotazione, Aziz è riuscito a farci innamorare della vita a Mhamid, letteralmente alle porte del deserto, e della cultura nomade! Ci ha fatto sentire a casa, e ci ha insegnato tantissimo! Un consiglio: una notte nel deserto è davvero troppo poco, sicuramente la prossima volta chiederemo ad Aziz di organizzare un trekking di più giorni!

Moi et ma mère avons vécu une expérience inoubliable et contemplative au cœur d’un désert d’une beauté majestueuse. Ballade en jeep dans le désert, voyage à dos de dromadaire au coucher du soleil, bon tajine à la nuit tombée, musique marocaine traditionnelle autour du feu, une voûte céleste à couper le souffle… Tout était parfait. Pour ce qui est du guide, Aziz est une personne formidable et d’une grande générosité. Vous serez sans aucun doute entre de bonnes mains. Le désert n’a aucun secret pour lui et il saura vous partager son savoir ancestral. Le personnel est très attentionné et s’assure qu’on ne manque de rien. Je recommande sans aucune hésitation. Ce sont des moments qui nous habiterons encore très longtemps.

We got a recommendation for a Sahara tour and the phone number of Aziz, whom I contacted the day before we wanted to go. He was super nice, spending time answering all my questions and managed to organize Ali who took us for a 24-hour long trip to Sahara - starting from Foum Zguid. It was everything that was promised and even more, we felt welcomed and well cared of. Thank you again for an amazing experience and I hope we are coming back!

Nous avons eu la chance de loger 1 nuit à MHamid chez Hassan & Aziz et 1 nuit dans le désert accompagné d'Aziz avec nos 3 enfants. Tout a été parfait ! Lors de notre séjour à M'hamid, nous avons été accueilli avec beaucoup de gentillesse par Hassan qui nous a ouvert les portes de leur maison traditionnelle. Nous nous sommes senti comme chez nous! Hassan nous a concocté un délicieux tajine. Nous avons pu passer une nuit reposante avec tout le confort nécessaire avant notre excursion dans le désert. Le lendemain, nous nous sommes promené à M'hamid, dernière ville avant le désert, où le calme règne et le temps semble s'être arrêté. Nous avons pris ensuite la route pour le campement dans le désert avec Aziz à bord de son 4x4. Arrivés au campement tout était très bien organisé : équipements, activités pour les enfants, balade en dromadaire dans un paysage qui semble irréel. Nous avons vécu une expérience inoubliable qui restera gravés dans nos mémoires. Aziz est un guide sérieux, souriant, excellent musicien et qui aime partager de bons moments. Hassan est d'une gentillesse absolue et un cuisinier hors pair. Nous recommandons à 100% et avons déjà envie de renouveler cette expérience tellement éloignée de nos modes de vie.

When my eldest son turned 18 I wanted to take him on an adventure to see and experience a new part of the world. We found Aziz originally through a travel agency BUT I strongly recommend for you to book direct. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! Aziz and his team took care of us and everything at every stage...I have been fortunate to travel extensively but nothing compares to this trip and the memories of being expertly guided, fed, watered and permitted to gain a true insight into nomadic life. We absolutely enjoyed every second of it especially sleeping under the stars every night, leaving behind our digital life (except camera of course) and truly appreciating the natural wonder and exceptional hospitality. I would recommend this trip to anyone and if you are thinking of booking it don't hesitate to do it!

Aziz is the best! If you want an authentic experience of desert experience you should go with sahara wonders and Aziz. Every part of the journey was new experience for us and is absolutely scenic. The aziz and the guys are experienced and very kind guides which can tell you all about the desert. His experience is authentic and he keeps it simple, original and fun. His is kind and also interested to hear about you, your culture and your thoughts. We stayed at Aziz house for two nights and we really liked it 😊 Aziz and his brother are really nice and interested in their guests. I have been three times to M’Hamid and into the desert with Aziz, one of the best guides I have had anywhere, especially because of his knowledge and experience growing up in this desert. Aziz is a lovely person, great to spend time with and on top of every detail needed for an unforgettable adventure.

Organizing our trip to M'hamid was extremely easy right from the beginning. Mohamed is very quick to respond to messages so once we started communicating it took no time at all to organize our stay with him. Myself, my husband and our two teenage boys had a fantastic 4 nights in and around M'hamid . The accommodation, although perhaps not for those who need a 5 star hotel, was made all the more delightful by the little terrace where we could sit and get some breeze on a hot afternoon, or eat dinner in the evening. Mohamed's brother, Hassan, looked after us very well throughout and produced delicious food. It was very easy indeed to organize our trip into the desert before we left home. Mohamed first gave us a one night option, and when asked about two, he immediately offered a very exciting plan that suited us all: camel trekking, dune climbing, sleeping under the stars after eating bread baked it in the sand... Aziz è innamorato del deserto e farà innamorare anche voi! Grazie a lui abbiamo vissuto un’esperienza autentica; infatti avevamo la nostra tenda e abbiamo potuto accamparci in un luogo isolato e stupendo. Abbiamo cenato con tajine e zuppa cotti sulle braci sotto un cielo stellato memorabile. Inoltre Aziz ha degli ottimi gusti musicali: la playlist in macchina è troppo bella!

Extraordinary Desert Guide and Host

I was a guest at Aziz's house in 2020 and very happy to return recently for two weeks. Aziz is a wonderful Airbnb host and and guide; he is kind, enjoyable to spend time with and makes sure guests are happy every day. His brother Hassan works with him as co-host at his home, making and serving the breakfast every day. Their mother bakes all the breads and preserves the olives served at breakfast, and one of their sisters bakes some delicious small sweet cakes, one that is dipped in chocolate. The brothers were born in the desert and lived as nomads with their parents, six siblings, and roughly fifty extended family members. When Azis and Hassan were seven and five years old, the collective family decided to give up their nomadic lifestyle and settle down in the small village of Mhamid, there they live today. Mhamid is a wonderful place to take it easy before and after visiting the Sahara Desert with Aziz, who loves sharing the land of his birth and stories about his childhood in the desert with visitors. It's the place he feels calmest and in sync with nature, and you will, too. There are only two access points into the Moroccan Sahara. One is from Merzouga and the other is from Mhamid, which gets you to the least visited, most remote and widest dunes of southern Morocco, the El Chicaga dunes. I was captivated by wildlife encounters and the unique perspective Aziz offers as a guide. We encountered wild goats, ostriches, and camels, and rare bird species, and Aziz's answers to my questions about these creatures and their behaviors were fascinating and far more detailed than I expected. Overnights in the tented desert camp include delicious meals, hiking and camel rides into the high dunes, and the ultimate solitude and photo opportunities. My desert trip with Aziz ranks high on my growing list of cultural adventures I highly recommend.

An amazing exeperience, a really great guide!

Our experience with Aziz was excellent. He and his brother Hassan are really kind and attentive hosts, and with them we experienced a taste of the life in M'hamid and the desert. We spent a couple of nights on the house at the outskirts of M'hamid. The house is wonderful, with its earthen walls, its patio and its vernacular architecture. We enjoyed specially an evening with some children of the neighbourhood and the incredible sky at night. On the second day, Aziz came to pick us with the 4x4 and, after a 3 hour trip with some stops and a lot of interesting explanations about the nomad way of life, the threats climate change and the building of dams pose to life on that zone and some other questions we asked, we arrived at the camp. We were stunned by it; we expected to find a basic place and instead we found a luxury one; the tents are so big and the beds so comfortable. Moreover, it's surrounded by the incredible dunes of Erg Chigaga, where we saw an unbelievable sunset. When we came back to the camp, there was a band playing beautiful touareg music. Then we ate a really good dinner and went out again to find an incredible night sky while we listened to the live music. In the morning, we saw the dawn, ate breakfast and then started the return to M'hamid. We're so happy to have decided to visit Aziz, he's a great host and guide, and we're so grateful to him and his family for all they've teached us about their way of life and their places and for their incredible hospitality. Alojarnos con Aziz y reservar la experiencia a través de su proyecto Sahara Wonders ha sido sin duda lo mejor del viaje. Aziz no es un empresario que ha visto una oportunidad de negocio en estas excursiones, Aziz ha sido nómada y ha vivido en el desierto hasta que sus circunstancias personales le obligaron a vivir en M'Hamid. Es decir, que cuando te adentras en el desierto con él, aprendes de su modo de vida, comprendes de primera mano las transformaciones que ha vivido el desierto y empiezas a impregnarte de su ritmo y manera de entender la vida. Su alojamiento ha sido sin duda el más cómodo de todo el viaje, con toda su familia pendiente en todo momento de nosotros y de nuestro bienestar. La excursión es súper completa y con todas las comodidades, te incluye el transporte en jeep (unas 2 horas) hasta las grandes dunas, donde al llegar te encuentras un campamento con unas 15 tiendas, tipo haimas, y cada una acoge a 2, 3 o 4 personas. Nosotros viajamos en familia con 2 niños y nos asignaron una tienda con 4 camas, 1 doble y dos individuales. Como viajamos en enero, nos preocupaba el frío, y para nada, las tiendas están muy preparadas y fue una de las en las que descansamos mejor. La excursión además incluía cena y desayuno y se adaptaron en todo momento a aquellos del grupo que eran vegetarianos. La excursión en dromedario al atardecer fue espectacular, siempre acompañados por personas amables, pacientes y sin prisas. A nuestros hijos les encantó también el sandboarding, y disfrutaron de tirarse por las dunas mientras nosotros escuchábamos la música en directo que nos acompañó durante la velada hasta que nos fuimos a dormir. Ahora estamos de vuelta en España y ya estamos pensando cuando podríamos volver a compartir unos dias con Aziz. Gracias por todo, a ti, a Hasan y a toda tu familia.

Fantastic nomad and dessert experience!! A Must in Morocco!

Staying in M'Hamid and the trip to Erg Chigaga was fantastic. Thanks, Aziz for looking after us so well. The experience in M'Hamid was great and the trip to Erg Chigaga was so mindblowing. Accommodation in M'Hamid 10/10 Breakfast 10/10 Dinner 10/10 Overnight Trip to Erg Chigaga (all inclusive) 10/10 We spent 4 nights (including New Year's Eve) 2 nights in one house, 1 night in camp in dessert and 1 night in another house. All of them were great. We were travelling 7 people (2 families with young kids), and we were all delighted with the kind help of Aziz and his family. Hassan was always ready to help us with any need. I would recommend to any family travelling to that area to book accommodation and experiences with Azis. They were very professional. Thanks, Asis and Hassan for making this trip a wonderful experience for all the family. I don't usually write reviews but I feel the experience that we had was so good that people should not miss on the experience My kids can't wait to go to the dessert and repeat!!

Experience nomadic life!

We had a very amazing time staying in Mohamed's place right at the border of M'Hamid and the desert. He welcomed us with a lovely vegetarian dinner. The next day we went on a 2 day desert trip that he organised for us. It was a memorable experience! Walking, riding camels, driving in a 4x4, right into what felt like the deep desert. A very authentic experience, lovely company, incredible scenery. Highly recommended!

A must do in Morocco!

We had an absolutely wonderful time on this tour. Our guide Smail was so welcoming, kind, patient and a lot of fun! He completely went above and beyond to show us wonderful viewpoints, tell us interesting facts and stories, and point out even the tiniest of details. If you're concerned about the driving time...don't be! The journey itself through the mountains and Draa valley to the end of the road in M'Hamid and then off road to the dunes was just as much a highlight - from communities in the Atlas Mountains to small pottery factories on the edge of the Sahara. Driving off road for a few hours to reach the camp near Erg Chigaga was an unforgettable experience and the dunes themselves were simply breathtaking. Learning about the Nomadic lifestyle was fascinating. Sahara Wonders provided us with a well constructed and adventurous trip to the Sahara! 100% recommend if you are in Morocco.

Amazing Desert Experience

We did a 3 day tour from Marrakech to Erg Chigaga spending one night in the desert camp. The tour was very interesting, Ismail was very professional and a good driver. The car was a well equipped 4x4. He gave us explanations about the Nomads and the Berbers and we made stops during the trip in very nice locations like Ait-Ben-Haddou or palm groves in the Draa valley. The desert days were the best, where we could spot some wildlife and take pictures of the amazing dunes. Also ride dromedaries. The days were extremely hot (beg August), the team at the camp put the bed outside of the tent so we could be more "fresh", still difficult with temperatures around 40. The hotel at M'Hamid had a nice swimming pool and the food was good in all the places we stopped. Also Ismail always checked with us if we wanted to stop at some cooperative/shops or not, which I appreciated. In a nutshell a very enriching experience with a knowledgeable guide (Nomad himself) which made us enjoy a lot this Sahara desert trip. I'd wish to come back in autumn-winter. Inshallah! ;)

Bucket List

Thank you, Aziz and Mohamed for an absolutely sensational trip. We honestly didn't know very much about Morocco when we first arrived in Marrakesh and the city was a little overwhelming, but as soon as Mohamed arrived to start our tour, the pace slowed down, we learned so much, and we enjoyed Mohamed's company immensely. We learned about the way cities are structured, the culture of the Berbers and the nomads, the history of the Kasbahs, the agricultural regions, and lots of personal stories of what it's like to live and grow up in a small town close to the Sahara. Thank you Mohamed so much for sharing your personal story with us and giving us a lens into what it was like to grow up in such a special place on this planet. There really are no words for how spectacular and intense the Sahara desert is. We also loved all the other places we got to see! The mule ride and hiking in the Dades Gorge, the hamam in Casablanca, the beach time in Essaouira. The whole trip was like a gift. Thank you Aziz and Mohammed for your incredible hospitality, flexibility, and kindness on our journey with you. We will never forget it!!!

Wonderful Experience in the Moroccan Desert!

We had a wonderful time visiting the desert! We booked with Aziz and ended up going with his brother Ali. He made sure we had everything we needed and that we were well looked after. Aziz also helped us to arrange taxi transfer from Ouarzazate airport, and welcomed us at his home before heading into the desert by 4x4. We saw camels and the changing landscape on the way to the desert which was extraordinary. When we arrived at the dunes, we had time to explore, take pictures and wander around. There were sand board provided too but we were so excited to look around that we completely forgot to use them! The camp itself is much better than I expected! The tents are large with double beds, and there is an outhouse with western style toilets, running water and showers (which I did not expect, but was very glad for!). We watched the sun set over the dunes and had dinner under the stars. Food and water was included in the price we paid. I was initially a little nervous about spending the night in the desert, for anyone who is considering but is unsure: do it!! you will not regret if you go with Aziz! The only slight negative is that because I booked outside of tripadvisor, part of the money I paid went missing in the international banking system and I think we ended up paying a bit more than we expected, but I guess sometimes these things cannot be helped haha. Bottom line is I would definitely recommend this experience!

Amazing Desert Experience

The stay in Mhamid was amazing! Aziz was a wonderful host, he was very welcoming! It truly felt like home. He also arrange an overnight trip to the desert-we rode camels, had delicious food, campfire and songs, played in the dunes and slept in a tent. It was really was an experience of a lifetime! I look forward to visiting Aziz and Mhamid again one day!

Wonderful Desert Stay

We had a lovely stay with Mohamed, who was extremely welcoming and attentive, from meeting us at the Bus Station to providing many pots of tea and a delicious breakfast. We also arranged a separate Sahara tour experience with him and it went wonderfully, music, campfire, desert dunes and camels... The works! I don't think we would have had anywhere near as good an experience in M'hamid if it hadn't been for him. We only spoke English and felt like he could deal with our many questions, both practical questions for our stay but also helping with our interest in the area. It's not often you find such a friendly and proactive host!

I stayed here one night and spent it talking to Hamza who picked me up from the bus station. This place was very comfortable for me and I liked how the rooms are very open. The whole place is very simple and I enjoyed my stay.

Good Pick for Mhamid

The handling of the sahara tour was satisfactory. The place is on the edge of town, but it is walking distance to the center. Host was nice and helpful, and communication was easy. His cousin even took us for a sunset walk across the river to see ruins of the old settlement.

It feels like home. It's a very quiet Riad, at the edge of the village but still not far because it's a small village, with a beautiful interior courtyard where one can relax. The host is very hospitable and respectful and he always prepares a fulfilling breakfast. It's good for families as the kids can be safe in he interior courtyard.

Je viens de passer 5 nuits chez Aziz : un pur bonheur. Petit riad authentique au coeur de m'hamid et aux portes du désert. Nous avons été formidablement bien accueillies.Très bons plats ,partage de chansons et bonne humeur au rendez vous. Je recommande les yeux fermés cet hébergement. C'est sur je reviendrai. Merci Aziz. Nous sommes arrivés chez Aziz le 11 février 2020 pour 3 nuits. Dépaysés à souhait et un peu incertains d’avoir fait un bon choix, nous avons vite réalisé que nous pouvions relaxer. Pas de formalité ici, juste de la simplicité, de la sincérité et de l’honnêteté. De l’extérieur, la maison a l’air de rien, de l’intérieur nous avons eu l’impression de vivre à la marocaine. Nous avons eu le plaisir de cuisiner avec Aziz et d’aller admirer les couchers de soleil sur les dunes qui sont juste à l’arrière de la demeure. Nous avons pu faire notre lavage à la main dans la cour arrière équipée de cordes à linge. Chaque matin, Aziz revenait sur sa moto avec du pain frais pour le petit déjeuner servi avec le fameux Kiri, les confitures et le thé. De la terrasse sur le toit, nous avons aimé voir et entendre jouer les enfants et voir les 2 jeunes voisins qui travaillaient sur leur toiture. Il n’y a pas eu de bruit la nuit et Aziz était toujours présent dans la maison. Au départ, j’ai oublié mon portable et mon CPAP chez Aziz. Nous étions rendu à 5 h de route (Ouarzazate) et nous avons communiqué avec Aziz et il a fait les démarches pour me les faire parvenir le lendemain par le bus et planifier la présence d’un cousin à l’arrivée du bus pour nous aider à récupérer le colis. Shoukran Aziz pour ton hospitalité et ton honnêteté et pour nous avoir partagé tes valeurs familiales, sociales et humaines.

Ce lieu est très bien, aux portes du desert. L'accueil est chaleureux. Azziz est très agréable, et on se sent bien dès l'arrivée. Je recommande vivement cet endroit. Un grand merci

We really enjoyed our stay in this peaceful place. Clean and cosy. And of course the desert trip that azziz organised was amazing. He is very relaxed and professional. Everything well organized. We went to a beautiful camp spot in the dunes, lot of tasty food was provided and of course a warm camp fire. The nights are chill in january. Highly.recommended

we had a wonderful, unforgettable experience. I only wish we could have stayed longer. The town of M’Hamid, located an hour and a half from Zagora, is on the edge of the Sahara desert. Prime location for staging a variety of desert activites, including a 4x4 and camels trip to the spectacular big dunes of Erg Chigaga. Whatever trip you choose, be it (camels , jeeps ), prepare to be blown away by desertl beauty. Even more impressive than the location are the people. Aziz and his family will take care of you. They are good, honest, hardworking folks who take pride in sharing their culture and the magic of the Sahara. The accommodations are local and beautiful. if you’re looking for a staging ground for a once in a lifetime desert trip with incredible locals people, this is the place.
